The Calicut High School for the Handicapped with separate residential facilities for blind, deaf and dumb boys and girls was established in 1980 admitting 13 blind boys and 2 blind girls under 5 specially trained teachers. Later in 1983, deaf and dumb students were also given admission. It was upgraded as Special Higher Secondary School in 2000. At present 350 deaf, dumb and blind students both boys and girls from all over Kerala State are staying and studying in this institution from Pre-Primary to Plustwo classes. Well organized Digital Talking Book Library, well equipped Air Conditioned Smart Class Room and Computer Lab, facility for printing in braille press are the special features of this school.
A Special school for differently abled children was established in 1989 with the aim to impart special education and training to the mentally challenged children to improve their quality of life and for their mental development and enjoyment. 91 mentally challenged children below the age of 15 years are residing at Sneha Mahal and receiving education and training under the supervision of 9 special educators and 11 non-teaching staff.
In 2005-06, the Government of Kerala and NCTE accorded sanction to start B.Ed College at M.G. Nagar, Mathara, Calicut with a strength of 100 students in English, Maths, Physical Science, Natural Science and Social Science. The college started functioning in temporary building and later in 2011 it was shifted to new three storied building. Affiliated to the University of Calicut and approved by the Government of Kerala, the college offers one year B.Ed. Degree Course. With the service of qualified and experienced faculties, the institution provides high quality education through modern teaching and learning methodologies.
With the recognition of the National Council for Teacher Education and the Government of Kerala, TTI was founded in 2004-05 with the intake of 50 students. This is a self financing institution having well qualified and resourceful teaching professionals and modern facilities and a good reference Library and Computer Lab.
Recognized by the Government of Kerala and the Government of India, Calicut Orphanage ITC was established in 1980. It is one of the reputed Industrial Training Institutes in North Malabar. The ITI is affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training, New Delhi. The institution offers Draughtsman, Civil, Electronic, Mechanic, Interior Decoration and Designing, Plumbing, Wireman courses. The students who have completed their courses are well placed in India and abroad.
Started as Calicut Orphanage U.P. School in 1996, it was upgraded as High School in 2004. About 200 students from the ordinary layman family in the neighbouring area are studying from 5th Standard to SSLC classes. With the modern infrastructural facilities and under the commendable coaching of committed teachers, the school is known for its discipline and academic excellence. It maintains cent percent success in SSLC exam every year.
Established in the year 1980, Calicut Orphanage ALP School has emerged as a model school in the field of Lower Primary Education in Kozhikode Education District. The Calicut Islamic Cultural Society started the L.P. School to provide free quality education to the young children in the vicinity. This is the only LP School in Kozhikode Educational District having Air Conditioned IT Theatre. About 400 students from the locality are having their primary education here under dedicated teachers.
With a view to provide proper health care to the inmates in Orphanage and other students in the institutions in CICS campus and medical treatment to the poor local residents in the locality at low cost. CICS Medical Centre was opened in 2008. Considering the urging need for the dialysis facilities, a community dialysis centre was opened in Medical Centre in September 2010. 36 Patients are undergoing dialysis daily in 3 shifts at subsidized rates and also free of cost. O.P. section in diabetic treatment, General Medicine, Dermatology and Pediatrics and a Dental care unit are functioning in the Medical Centre.
Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, the renowned University in South India, has recognized CICS Institute of Higher Education as their off campus study centre in Kozhikode District. The centre offers distance education in various postgraduate and undergraduate courses like MBA, MCA, MA, M.Sc., M.Com, MSW, BBA, BCA, B.Sc., BA, B.Com etc. approved by Distance Education Council, New Delhi, Government of India and Government of Kerala. More than 300 students are undergoing various courses in the centre.

Peekay CICS Arts & Science College is an unaided College approved by the Govt. of Kerala and affiliated to the University of Calicut. The College was set up in 2009 under the management of Peekay Educational and Charitable Trust, Kozhikode. Calicut Islamic Cultural Society (CICS) has took over the management of the College from the academic year 2013-14. The campus is located on the picturesque hills at Mahathma Gandhi Nagar, Mathara, Calicut. It is eight Kilometers away from the Calicut City.
