Calicut Islamic Residential Higher Secondary School was established in 1980. Now, it is one of the top renowned educational Institution in Kozhikode District.
The school is unique in many respects. It is one of the few schools in the district with residential facilities for both boys and girls. It has the rare distinction of having Malayalam medium divisions along with English medium divisions in all the classes from V to X.
The school governed by the Calicut Islamic Cultural Society (C.I.C.S.), Kolathara, Kozhikode. The CICS runs 13 other institutions including the “Calicut Orphanage” The society has deep- rooted tradition in social, cultural and educational spheres. The uplift and rehabilitation of the destitutes and the deprived children is the motto of the society.
The school management is well aware of the sentiments of Muslim parents, in general, who want their children to be trained in the Islamic way of life, especially in the fast changing period of “globalization”. So in additional to maintaining a very spacious and hygienic mosque with modern amenities inside the campus, specially arranged classes are given students on the principles and practices of Islam.

Separate hostels are available fro boys and girls, All the hostels are equipped with most modern facilities. The food served in the mess is for good quality.
The specially given religious instruction classes In the school help the student an ideal, well- mannered and disciplined character.
Our Computer Laboratories are very elaborate with ultra modern facilities and even the students in standard I have access to them.
The smart class programme is implemented in all classes from LKG to Plus 2. It brings a digital revolution in class rooms. Teaching and learning become very interesting and effective.
In the higher secondary section, besides the computer lab, we have separate laboratories fro Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology all well equipped with most modern facilities.
The school library has adequate number of general and reference books. The reading room is ready with almost all the leading newspapers and periodicals in order to help the children go with the new curriculum and sillabi.
The units of Scout & Guide, Junior Red Cross National Green Corps are very active In the school and they help the children in promoting their leadership qualities and self – reliance.
The activities of various language subject clubs are planned in advance and are systematically carried out.
Entrance coaching is given to all plus 1 and Plus 2 (Science Group) Students by highly proficient teachers.
